Technician called out because the freezer of a Kenmore Elite couldn't recover to desired freezer temps (-4 degrees) even after 24 hours. Freezer was reading anywhere from 20 to 32 degrees which is not good. Technician (Al) was on constant output and it was difficult for my husband or I to explain what the problem had been because the freezer was currently working properly (three days after the problem started). Since the technician had the freezer door open for 40 minutes while he was checking the problem, after he left, it took over 12 hours for the freezer temperature to recover. We think it's the defrost sensor and made another appointment for 10/2. We tried to tell him this but he felt he couldn't do anything because the problem wasn't presenting itself during his visit. We are now keeping a log (recording freezer and refrigerator temps) for the next technician to see so that he can better diagnose the problem and essentially order any replacement parts if needed.
