Aside from a policy of not assisting in exceptions, i.e. letters for approval of transportation, Dr. Foster is caring and efficient in administering blocks, shots, etc. Most of office staff are welcoming and kind. I have been spoken to in a dictatorial fashion by one NP where others could hear and it was repeated more than once as if I am a child. I do not appreciate that. Otherwise I have been treated with respect and decency. I have been a patient with NSPC long before this office opened. I began as a pt. Hagerstown MD around 2003. Dr. El Mohandes was my first physician and remained so until this office was up and running. There were many times I only felt the teeny poke of numbing needles and held my breath for the actual injection only to be told he was finished. Another time my freakish illness made a tendon audibly pop (!) upon insertion of the needle which scared us all. I had to stay and be monitored for an hour for possible spinal fluid leakage and is ensuing headache. Problem is I suffer from excruciating headaches and was told this would be worse. Dr. El said Ms. ........ does have beyond our experience headaches and I was sent home. Dr. El called the next morning to check on me! I have yet to have another physician call to see how I am and I see about every "ologists" available. I'm in high praise when it comes to Dr. El and since this office aquire Dr. Foster he has been nothing but pleasant and compassionate. Unfortunately where I live now EVERYONE is a junkie and you cannot prove otherwise even after you sign your life away agreeing to hair folic testing as well as urinalysis and pill counts only to be told by surgeons (cutters) that your rare disease is common and it doesn't hurt! N.O.R.D. listed and this guy doesn't suffer from any malady such as mine nor migraines, 25 surgeries, Breast Cancer, etc. and never opened the website of my disease to see that every single person within the EDS community suffers from some degree of pain! So, I have to drive the and a half hours to get to NSPC. If I could have the letter I need to get my various treatments that continue to prevent an increase in mg. (as I have had since 1998) and had an apology from the NP that humiliated me they would have an update to 5 stars. It really wasnt fair to lecture me on something I heard in the room privately (thanks addicts & CDC=not! ) again at least two more times out in the hallway where office staff and patients could hear. If it was done to show other pts. they're serious about CDC up in our private medical history, I could've been asked to be used as fear tactic. Being prn had allowed for my wallet to recover every few months and groceries to be replenished. No longer. Now I go broke every month. I'm disabled and even though I have SSDI because I paid into system 30 yrs. I only eat Organic and use supplements to assist my walking out of a wheelchair in 2011. These things make me feel better but they hit hard in the wallet.
