I was recently involved in an accident and needed some body work on my Audi A4. I bought my car at Valley Motors in Cockeysville and have always had great experience dealing with them so I had my car towed to their body shop on site. They said they were backed up in the body shop and referred me to Gunter Collision. My experience with Gunter was well below par. First off they kept setting finish dates and then would call me the day of and cancel always saying they would be finished the next day. This happened three times. Along with body work I also asked them to install brakes, rotors, and a wheel bearing. When the car was finally finished I drove to the shop to pick it up. Mike, who coordinated the work on the car said he drove the car and it road nice. Just to make sure I took the car for a test drive. While driving I notice a terrible knocking sound coming from the front wheels. I returned with the car and asked Mike what was wrong, he decided to take it for a ride. While driving he says "well it looks like you might need another wheel bearing". I was confused because he JUST said the car drove nice??? So he said to just pay for the work done and to return with the car the next week to put in another wheel bearing. At this point I was angry that he lied to me about how the car drove and wanted to just get out of there and go home. I paid him for the work done and agreed to come back the next week. On the way home I decided I better have another mechanic look at the front tires. I dropped my car off at Valley motors and asked them to find out what was making the knocking noise. They then called me and said that the brake pads were hitting the calipers and all that was needed to solve this problem was some anti seize and lubricant. Thank god I didn't return to Gunther Collision because i'm sure they would have charged me for an unneeded wheel bearing. Please save yourself the trouble of dealing with this place.
