We purchased a new home with Miller and Smith in Aspen North, New Market MD. The builder uses CECO as their electrical. We moved into our house and the GFI outlets in ALL our bathrooms NEVER worked from day one. Ceco came out and said the GFI just had to be reset (which i had tried but it would not reset). Ok, i thought maybe it was my fault and that i didnt know how to push a reset button because im an idiot apparently. So 20 minutes after they test everything and leave, i try to use one of the outlets and it trips again as soon as i stuck the prongs in the outlet. I go all the way to the basement where they put the reset button for some reason, reset it and walked back to the master bathroom only to find that it tripped in the time it took for me to walk upstairs. From that point on it tripped every 20 minutes, even if nothing was even plugged into any of the outlets anywhere. I called Ceco again, they came out again and said they checked every outlet and didnt see any issues. I asked them why it keeps tripping and they kept blaming it on the fact that I was probably trying to use a blow dryer and the blow dryer was culprit. First of all, just because im a woman doesnt mean im an idiot and use the blow dryer, power washer, blender and maybe a space heater all at one time to keep tripping the damn gfi.(Sorry for all the sarcasm) I should be able to use a single item in my brand new home master bath without tripping the damn GFI. Today was their THIRD visit and magically during this visit they found that there were spots in the wiring that were damaged which caused the issue. HMMM. So it wasnt my blow dryer? I cant believe it took THREE visits for them to finally check behind the outlet covers and fix the issue. VERY unprofessional in handling this situation and makes them seem very incompetent that it took three visits to resolve it. Perhaps they were just trying to prolong the process so they could keep getting paid for the visits by the builder? Not sure, either way, terrible experience!
